Gen Z Winners & Losers: April Analysis across Sectors (Callouts Include WYNN, SHAK, TSCO, CVNA)
Summary: Gen Z traction and growth are critical leading indicators given long-term demographic share shifts – in April’s analysis of 113 companies across sectors we note: (1) BOOT, SHAK, TPR lead Gen Z traction growth, we note all three also showing rising short interest; (2) BYD, PVH, LCID show the strongest positive inflection (1Q26 y/y vs. prior trend); (3) GME, BROS, WING hold the highest Gen Z mix but are all inflecting negatively. (4) SIG, JACK, WING have rising short interest and declining Gen Z traction; (5) WYNN is leading in sector inflection, TSCO – SHAK – CVNA are growth leaders in their sectors.
Top traction gainers: SHAK, BOOT, TPR lead all 113 names in Gen Z traction growth (all three are also showing short interest growth).
Short interest callouts: SIG, JACK, WING show rising short interest paired with declining Gen Z traction (see Figure 1).
Highest 18–34 mix: GME, BROS, WING (all three currently inflecting negatively), while SHAK, BJRI, SHOO are inflecting positively (Figure 2). Strongest Gen Z traffic growth: BKE, TSCO, BOOT (Figure 3).
Strongest positive inflections (Jan–Mar 2026 y/y vs. prior 3m trend): BYD, PVH, LCID (Figure 4).
