- Spending trends are negative for most apparel brands (excluding CALY) but traffic trends are improving.
- NKE is seeing some difficulties with demand in China and reimposed tariffs, but we still see many signs of improving trends. We include NKE store visit photos.

Stat Spotlight – How Strong is Team USA Headed into the World Baseball Classic?
Among a collection of other elite players, Team USA’s strong WBC roster boasts four former MVP award winners including reigning and 3x AL MVP Aaron Judge, as well as both reigning Cy Young award winners (Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes). Countries such as The Dominican Republic (+360), reigning champion Japan (+380), Venezuela (+900), & Mexico (+2200) have very strong rosters as well, and it is far from guaranteed (especially in a sport like baseball) which country will emerge victorious. However, Baseball America’s deep dive into this year’s Team USA compared to prior years suggests that there is a very strong case that this is the greatest US team ever, and the team is the current odds-on favorite (-110) to take home the championship.

There are still some headwinds for the company, including the reimposition of tariffs as well as pressures in China (which have led to share price declines this week). Adidas additionally reported, with concerns over tariffs as well as middle east stores that are contributing to declines in investor sentiment for NKE as well. However, we are still seeing some additional improving trends at NKE.
Optimal’s In-Store Monitor and Online Monitor for NKE have both tracked the share price; however, this relationship has broken down recently as in-store and online trends have improved while share price has continued to decline.
